Enjoy the magical winter time of our country!
For skiers and snowboarders, the region offers two delightful resorts. On the one hand Germany's highest mountain the Zugspitze, which guarantees, being 3,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains, rocks, snow and ice, a winter sports experience of superlatives. A total of 22 kilometers of natural snow slopes, is a pure skiing and snowboarding paradise. For young freestylers, there is also a terrain park, which is equipped with various rails and kickers.
On the other hand, there is the local resort Garmisch-Classic, with the peaks of "Hausberg, Kreuzeck, and Alpspitze", three challenging merged ski mountains, which are easily accessible and provide plenty of variety. 40 km of slopes at an altitude 700-2050 meters lure with runs for all ability levels, unique natural impressions and five valley runs. In addition, guests of this area can discover the historic trails of Olympic athletes and rub shoulders with the recent World Alpine Ski Championships.
The cross-country skiing in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is more than just an endurance sport, due to the fresh air and the silence it is also a sensual experience. Over 100 kilometers of perfectly groomed trails offer many possible variations and lead past interesting natural and cultural scenes.
Enjoy e.g. on the trail towards Grainau / Hammersbach the beautiful view of the Zugspitze mountain, or start your skiing day at the historic Olympic ski jump, which was renewed in 2007, nicknamed now the "Olympic Cantilever".
